Beauty by the River
Siouxlanders take part in recreational boating, the Cat Attack fishing tournament, and the South Dakota Kayak Challenge. Or, make the most of your Sioux City experience by taking it all in at one of many waterfront hotels and bars.
Take the Long Way
The Missouri River, the longest river in North America, flows through the Tri-State area. Sometimes known as the “Big Muddy”, the Missouri River served as a travelway for the residents of Siouxland. Now the Missouri River is known for outdoor fun.

Chris Larson Park, located on the Sioux City Riverfront, offers boat access, a picnic area, playground, Riverfront walking and biking trails, an accessible shoreline and scenic views along the Missouri River encompassing parts of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.
Also, on the Riverfront is the beautiful Anderson Dance Pavilion, with its Greek/Roman architecture and gardens. The Pavilion offers a very scenic view of the River for outdoor gatherings and weddings.

Lakeport Commons

Grandview Park / Rose Garden
Located in Sioux City, the Grandview Park hosts two beautiful features, the Bandshell and the Rose Garden. The Band Shell is home to the hugely attended Saturday in the Park free music festival, the Municipal Band concerts and summer Movies in the Park. The Rose Garden has been renovated back to it’s glory days, complete with a water fountain, trellis and beautiful roses.

Bacon Creek Park
If you love the outdoors then you’re going to love Bacon Creek Park. This park offers a great location for picnics, lake fishing, kayaking, multiuse trails, a playground and dog park. It’s a great place to take the family or just to get away by yourself.
